LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas Metro Police alongside Valley officials share details on agencies efforts to ensure safety across the area on New Year’s Eve.
LVMPD will be enforcing all New Year’s Eve ordinances which will include no glass bottles, not suitcases, computer bags or any bag exceeding the listed size of 12 by 12 by 12 limit.
Those who are seen with this will be asked to either throw it away or store it somewhere else, if these protocols are not followed, it can even be confiscated.
Clark County Fire Department will also have a large presence both on the strip and in your neighborhoods for all firework related matters.
“For those illegal fireworks or fireworks in your neighborhood during this time you can definitely call 311. We always do prioritize those calls but we’ll definitely be working on attending those and the needs the community still has. Our focus isn’t just on the strip itself. It’s still the rest of the community we have to focus on,” said CCFD.
Road are set to close beginning at 5:30 p.m. for I15 exits from Tropicana to Flamingo both ways ahead of ringing in the new year. Strip closures start at 6:30 p.m..
The strip will fully close to vehicles at 8 p.m.
“We have lost too many senseless lives in fatalities I want to just take a moment to ask everyone in the community if you’re going to drink please don’t drive,” expressed Assistant Sheriff Yasenia Yatomi.
