Neighbors told FOX5 the dog appeared to be a large breed, possibly a Pitbull.

The night before the dog was found, police captured surveillance footage of two men pushing a kennel near the dumpster at 27th and Valley streets. Both men continued to walk northbound on 27th, then east on Sunrise Avenue.

Police believe the dog may have already died before it was dumped.

The investigation is being led by the LVMPD Animal Cruelty Detail in conjunction with the Clark County Animal Protection Services and community partners. Detectives are asking for the communities help in identifying the individuals responsible for this incident.
