LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police arrested the driver in a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run.
According to police, the crash happened around 4:07 p.m. near Harmon Avenue and La Mar Circle.
Police said the vehicle left the scene before police could arrive.
The driver was traveling eastbound when they struck a cyclist, said police.
Police reported the pedestrian suffered a severe head wound and was taken to UMC hospital, where he later died.
The LVMPD Real-time Crime Center assisted in locating the vehicle.
Lanes will remain closed traveling both ways on Harmon from Koval to Paradise.
Drivers should expect delays in the area.
“Please avoid the area due to road closures,” police said. “This is an ongoing investigation.”
