LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police said they have revised their policy in response to the passing of the Laken Riley Act.
Metro says they are “expanding the list of changes against foreign-born individuals that must be reported to ICE by the Detentions Services Division.”
According to the revision in 4.166, any migrant arrested and charged for a violent felony, domestic violence, DUI, burglary, theft, larceny, petit larceny, or assault of a law enforcement office, the Detention Services Division will notify ICE at the time of booking and release.
Las Vegas police say they will not delay the release of an inmate for ice, but will honor judicial warrants for arrest from the agency.
Ice ICE id not present at the time of the inmate’s release, Las Vegas police will release the inmate.

FOX5 is asking Henderson, North Las Vegas and Nevada State Police if they are changing their policies as well.
Laken Riley was 22 was she was killed by Jose Antonio Ibarra. He has been arrested for illegal entry back in 2022.
