LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 32-year-old is accused of fatally stabbing his father north of the Strip Monday morning.

Las Vegas Metro Police said Carlos Magana woke up upset with his father and confronted him. This happened at a residence in the 1900 block of Rexford Drive. Magana’s sister reported the incident to LVMPD’s communications.

When officers arrived, they took Magana into custody in front of the residence. Inside, officers found a man suffering from stab wounds. Medical would later arrive and say he died at the scene.

Homicide detectives responded and learned that during the confrontation, Magana reportedly used a knife to stab his father multiple times.

He was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder with a deadly weapon.

“The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, can be obtained through the Clark County Coroner’s Office,” police said.

According to Las Vegas Justice Court records, Magana has a hearing Thursday morning.
