LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are investigating a morning crash that left one person with critical injuries.
According to an LVMPD release, the crash happened near E. Sahara Ave. and S. Nellis Blvd. at approximately 7:43 a.m. on Tuesday. Evidence at the scene, witness statements and video surveillance indicated that a 2018 Nissan Altima exited a private drive onto the 4800 block of E. Sahara, traveling northbound.
A 2017 Dodge Caravan approached the private drive eastbound on E. Sahara and the crash occurred when the Nissan began making a left turn onto E. Sahara as the Dodge reached the private driveway. The collision redirected both vehicles to the east, where they came to rest.
Emergency medical personnel transported the Nissan’s driver to Sunrise Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where police said she remains in critical condition. The Dodge’s driver remained at the collision scene and showed no signs of impairment, according to police.
The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
