LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting a few blocks away from UNLV.
According to a police report, it happened on the 4000 block of S. Maryland Parkway on Wednesday. Police said that a man armed with a knife robbed an individual outside of a retail store.
When officers arrived, a foot pursuit of the suspect ensued and police said that “at some point, shots were fired.” The suspect was killed and no officers were injured.
Flamingo is closed from Maryland Parkway to University.
