LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Las Vegas Metro Police officer is facing multiple charges related to domestic violence and kidnapping, police say.
According to a release, Officer Philippe Dinh, 31, was arrested Thursday and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
Charges Include:
- 2 counts of Kidnapping Second Degree (Felony)
- 1 count of Domestic Battery by Strangulation (Felony)
- 1 count of Assault Constituting Domestic Violence, with Use of a Deadly Weapon (Felony)
- 1 count of Domestic Battery with Use of a Deadly Weapon (Felony)
- 3 counts of Coercion Constituting Domestic Violence with Threat or Use of Physical Force (Felony)
- 1 count of Coercion Constituting Domestic Violence (Misdemeanor)
- 2 counts of Domestic Battery, First Offense (Misdemeanor)
The nature of the incident that led to the arrest is currently unclear, though he is the second LVMPD officer to be arrested on domestic violence charges this week.
Dinh has been employed with LVMPD since 2021, assigned to the Community Safety Division in the Southeast Area Command.
Police say Dinh has been placed on suspension of police powers without pay pending further investigation. He is due in court on Thursday, Dec. 11.
