LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Sgt. Kevin Menon, a former Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer, has been sentenced after being accused of illegally arresting people, possessing child pornography and setting up hidden cameras.
According to Robert Draskovich, Menon’s defense attorney, the embattled sergeant was sentenced to four to 10 years in a Nevada Department of Corrections facility as part of a plea deal. Menon will be required to register as a sex offender upon release.
In March, Menon was indicted for the third time in six months. At that time, he faced new charges, including capturing an image of the private area of another person. That charge was added to previous indictments related to illegal arrests and child pornography.
In November, Steve Grammas, president of the Las Vegas Police Protective Association, said Menon’s entire team came forward to report him.
“It was the entire squad,” Grammas said in November. “Once they all got together talking about things that they had concerns with and finding out it wasn’t isolated to themselves.”
Menon had been with the department since 2014 and worked in the Convention Center Area Command Tourist Safety Division. He was placed on leave in May 2024 after being accused of ordering arrests without probable cause.
