LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said they will provide more details about a shooting involving two officers against an armed suspect.
Police said the shooting happened Wednesday morning near Boulder Highway near Russell Road. Officers responded to the 6400 block of Boulder Highway in response to a man with a knife outside a business.
Officers at the scene said they saw the suspect holding two knives and threatening customers.
Police said the suspect ignored commands to drop his weapons. Less lethal methods were used to prevent him from entering, but police said he then turned to charge at officers.
Officers Ashley Ravelo and Johnny Patino, both 32, fired and struck him.
Police said the suspect received treatment that day, but police have not provided an update on the suspect’s condition.
