Las Vegas police searching for shooting suspects after woman lost her eye

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are searching for shooting suspects after a woman lost her eye in October.

Metro Police said the shooting happened around 7 p.m. in the 500 block of North Lamb Boulevard near Bonanza on October 5, 2024.

Police said victim Martha Cabajal pulled into an apartment complex when a bullet flew through her window and struck her side of the head.

A bystander called 911 and helped provide medical aid. When officers arrived, they continued aid and started to interviewing witnesses.

Witnesses say they saw several suspects running. Metro Police would obtain surveillance footage showing individuals hopping over a wall and running across the complex.

Northeast Area Command Captain, Jonathan Riddle, says the department has exhausted all investigative means and are now turning to the community for assistance.

“This was a senseless act that altered an innocent woman’s life,” Riddle said. “Shootings such as this one is the reason why our sheriff created the Violent Gun Crime Unit at the end of 2024.”
