LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are searching for a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run on Sunday night.
According to LVMPD, the driver of a newer model Nissan Maxima struck a pedestrian on North Eastern Avenue, south of East Owens Avenue around 6:52 p.m. An initial investigation found that the Nissan was traveling north on Eastern, and failed to yield right-of-way, striking a woman crossing the street in a marked crosswalk.
The Nissan driver then fled the area, police say.
The woman was transported to the UMC Trauma Center, where she would later die.
Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the vehicle of interest. They note that the metallic blue vehicle is damaged around the right front headlight, hood, and windshield.
“The pedestrian’s death marked the 9th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2025,” police noted in a release.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
