LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are asking for the public’s help identifying possible suspects in a train derailment last week.

The derailment, which happened on May 23 in the 9700 block of South Rainbow Boulevard, caused nearly $25,000 in damages and cleanup costs, according to police. It also activated the train crossing barriers, which caused further traffic issues.

An initial investigation revealed that someone tampered with three railroad carts, and triggered one to roll off the tracks with the other two dumped out rocks.

Detectives have identified three people of interest who were seen in a truck in the area.
