LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said an 84-year-old woman died early March after she struck a curb.

According to a report, Carol S. struck curbing on Far Hills Avenue west of Desert Foothills Drive in the eastbound travel lanes while driving a Honda Accord. LVMPD’s dispatch received 911 calls regarding the incident on Saturday, March 2 around 4:46 p.m.

Medical arrived and the report says she was alert and talking.

Police said she was not restrained when she struck the curb and was transported to UMC Trauma for advanced medical care. LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section did not respond because the injuries were not identified as life-threatening, police say.

The report says officers learned on March 6 that the driver died from her injuries when she struck the curb.

“The driver’s death marks the 68th traffic-related fatality for the year 2024,” police said. “This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.”
