LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Las Vegas Raiders are releasing veteran defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.
The move comes while Wilkins is recovering from a foot injury. ESPN is reporting that the Raiders are voiding the $35.2 million guaranteed money remaining on his contract because of how Wilkins approached the rehab from his injury, and that he has filed a grievance with the players association.
Last year, Wilkins signed a four-year contract with the Raiders worth $110 million. He played only five games with two sacks and 17 tackles being injured in Denver.
The Raiders said in a statement that it is “in the best interests of the organization to move on from Christian Wilkins.”
