LAS VEGAS — Search and rescue personnel airlifted a hiker from Calico Tanks on Sunday afternoon after the person suffered a possible stroke.

SAR was notified of a hiker who suffered a possible stroke near Calico Tanks around 1 p.m. Sunday. A BLM ranger and Clark County Fire Department personnel hiked through the area to find the hiker.

Due to the severity of the medical episode, air support was requested.

AIR3 arrived shortly after CCFD personnel arrived, bringing in a search and rescue officer and two Mountain Rescue volunteers.

The hiker was loaded into the helicopter and taken to the BLM helipad before being transferred to a ground ambulance.

The patient was then taken to the local hospital for further treatment.
