LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Las Vegas local is supporting small businesses with only two things – his phone and his taste buds.

Meet Brandon, or commonly known as @BrandonFromVegas, an online content creator who is catapulting mom and pop shops into success one food review at a time.

Nearly every day, Brandon said he posts food review videos online. But, there’s a strategy to which food he reviews.

“I specifically only post at mom and pop shops, local places,” Brandon explains. “Because to me, if we’re going to bring business anywhere, the strip doesn’t need business.”

There’s a strategy to how he films each video, too, from what he orders, to price transparency.

“I grew up really poor in Vegas, and my mom would never go somewhere unless she knew the price,” he said. “By showing the price at the beginning, you let them know what their expectations are. That way, if it’s a little out of their price range, they can know, ‘hey, this one’s not for me.’”

When it comes to camera work, Brandon said he always wants to film the food at its best.

“We want to show them how gooey it is. We want to show them the bread is fresh, it’s crispy, it’s buttery, it’s crunchy, right? We want to show them the size, so that’s the portion comparison to my hand,” Brandon demonstrated.

All this strategy is for a greater purpose. Many of Brandon’s videos have a huge impact on the businesses he highlights.

For example, Golden Boy Deli Henderson’s co-owners said one video from Brandon catapulted them into success only days after their opening.

“I mean, we went from month one to month six in two days, and it really completely changed both of our lives entirely,” Co-owner Scott Arn said.

Brandon said his main source of income is through real estate. His food review videos him generate income by drawing attention to the other real estate videos on his account.

He said wearing multiple hats isn’t easy, but he will never shy away from supporting the city he loves.

“I was born and raised in this city. I love this city. I would do quite literally anything for this city. And, the ability to give back by generating business for mom and pops like this is, it’s the highlight of the day,” Brandon said.

He added, no matter your age or social-media skill level, it’s never too late to start creating.
