LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Boulder City Police Department said they are now investigating a 10-week-old puppy’s injuries as a felony animal cruelty case.

FOX5 first reported about “Seven,” a male rottweiler mix Tuesday. He was found at a property on 7th Street.

Reports say the property owner did not know how the puppy got there.

Boulder City Animal Hospital says Seven is being treated for a dislocated jaw, eye and facial damage and missing teeth. Veterinarians say his injuries are consistent with human animal abuse.

Since being in treatment, he’s had two surgeries. One of his eyes had to be removed.

“The Boulder City Police Department takes all cases relating to animal abuse extremely seriously,” said Detective Sergeant Tiffany Driscoll. “The level of abuse this puppy received at the hands of a human is shocking to the conscious. We hope someone will come forward with any information regarding the puppy’s caretakers, origins, or anything which could lead to an arrest and prosecution in this case.”

“Thankfully, now, Seven is in great hands and is expected to make a full recovery,” added Boulder City Animal Control Supervisor Ann Inabnitt. “We sincerely appreciate the outpouring of support from our Boulder City Community and residents in Southern Nevada who have provided numerous donations and offers to aide in the care of Seven during his long recovery.”

Any persons with information relating to this case are urged to contact Boulder City Police Detective Brett Wibrew at [email protected].
