LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has approved $5 million in funding for the Vegas Strong Fund, marking a significant contribution to the Forever One Memorial.
The dedicated memorial will honor the 58 people killed during the tragedy on Oct. 1, 2017.
The memorial will also recognize the survivors of the attack and celebrate the heroic actions of first responders who acted during the shooting at the Route 91 Harvest music festival.
“We’re honored to be a part of it and, you know, to recognize the victims, to help those families and friends heal, community heal, and just be a part of that effort,” city leaders said.
Officials say the timeline for the memorial’s construction has not yet been finalized at this time.
