LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Sphere in Las Vegas was unanimously approved for a limited number of days to exceed its noise levels.

On Wednesday, the Clark County Commission voted 7-0 to allow Sphere to exceed its noise level frequency no greater than 85 decibels, measured at the Sphere’s property line for 12 days per year.

Officials with the entertainment venue are also expected to notify Park Towers and Meridian management before the event. During the previously granted approval period, Sphere did this twice during UFC 306 and the XO Student Design Challenge.

The increase in noise is only allowed between 9 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. On New Year’s Eve, the permitted noise increase would be allowed until 1 a.m. Documents say there were no violations with code enforcement or recent complaints with the commissioner’s office.

Sphere has until Sept. 4, 2027, to review the conditions again for extension.

The conditions were placed after nearby residents of the venue voiced how the sound could get “too loud.”
