LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas Metro police is set to share new details on a police shooting that happened over the weekend.

The shooting occurred just before 2 p.m. near Durango Drive and Patrick Lane.

Police reported a man stepped outside a home with a gun and ignored commands to drop the weapon. The man allegedly pointed the gun at officers and that’s when one of the nearby officers fired his gun.

The suspect was hit by the gunfire and taken to the hospital where he later died.

This is the second officer-involved shooting in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2025.
