LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Multiple agencies responded to a suspect chase that spanned the Las Vegas Valley.
Sources confirm to FOX5 that a homicide suspect was involved in a carjacking that has now led police on a high-speed chase. Police confirm the suspect was taken into custody near Boulder Highway and Sahara Avenue and the chase was over shortly after 9 a.m.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said the incident started at Cheyenne and Queen Street when officers located a stolen vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle. LVMPD said the vehicle didn’t comply and it initiated a chase.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, Nevada State Police and Henderson Police are all involved in the chase. A witness told FOX5 that North Las Vegas Police was also involved in at least one of the scenes.
There’s a heavy police presence at Boulder Highway and Tropicana involving multiple vehicles. A witness in the area said the scene was part of the chase.
LVMPD said it’s still a dynamic incident and to avoid the area.
