The shooting happened Thursday morning in the 1500 block of Cobb Lane, near Eastern and Owens.

Capt. McKenzie stated that the suspect then stood back up, armed with a knife. Officers then used less lethal weapons to take him into custody.
The suspect was then taken to UMC Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Officers reported no injuries.
Officer Lee is 38 years old and has been employed since 2021. Robinson is 36 years old and has been employed since 2017. Both are assigned to the Tourist Safety Division, Downtown Area Command.
They have been placed on routine paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a review of this incident.
