LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police arrested two men for a shooting that killed a downtown bartender.
Police identified the suspects as Philip Strong, 18, and Charles Wright, 20. They were booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Feb. 21 for open murder with a deadly weapon.
29-year-old Hope Ritter was found in her car near Fremont and Las Vegas Boulevard with multiple gunshot wounds. Police say she was with a friend in her car talking when two men walked past them and shot inside.
She died at the scene.
FOX5 has learned Ritter was an employee at Atomic Liquors, just a few blocks from where she was shot.
The company released a statement on Facebook saying in part, “Hope’s warm presence touched the lives of our regular patrons and the entire downtown community. Her loss is a profound one…”
Family, friends, coworkers and the downtown Las Vegas community came together Sunday to Ritter’s life with a memorial.
Wright and Strong are expected in court for an initial appearance tomorrow in Las Vegas Justice Court.
