LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A woman was stabbed several times while sitting at a casino slot machine earlier this month, according to an arrest report obtained by FOX5.

Elonda Alexander, 38, was arrested on Monday, July 8, on charges of battery after the brutal stabbing of another woman at the Aztec Inn.

At 10:36 p.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a stabbing at the casino, and observed a woman bleeding from apparent stab wounds along her back.

The victim was transported to UMC Trauma, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. During an interview with officers at the hospital, the victim stated that she had been hanging out and “smoking meth” with Alexander at home before the attack.

Alexander, who also goes by “Moe Jo”, was homeless and became upset when the victim’s printer would not work, according the report. The victim added that Alexander was attempting to print paperwork for her incoming Social Security payments before giving up.

The two would then head to the Aztec Inn with Alexander’s boyfriend, and the victim would sit down at a slot machine. The victim then recalled Moe Jo approaching her from behind and stabbing her in the back four times.

The attack appeared to be without warning as the victim told officers that she and Alexander had no issues in the past. She also told officers that she remembered Alexander saying, “[Expletive], I hope you die,” during the attack.

Officers would later locate Alexander outside an apartment complex on St. Louis Avenue. Officers took her into custody without incident, but were not able to find the knife used in the attack.

The suspect would also confess to the attack while in custody, telling officers that the victim was “supposed to help [her] get some money so she would have a place to stay” but was unable to come up with any. This upset Alexander, who said she felt the victim was “laughing at her.”

Surveillance video obtained by investigators would show Alexander stabbing the victim four times in back before the “knife flew into the air and landed on the ground on the other side of the machines.”

The report noted that investigators would later find the knife in the casino’s lost and found.

Alexander is facing four counts of battery and one count of use of a dangerous weapon. She is due in court for a preliminary hearing on Monday, August 12.
