LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Stations Casinos sent a statement to FOX5 saying a majority of their team members at Sunset Station represented by the Culinary Union no longer want to be represented moving forward.
The statement was released Monday morning. The casino says a signed decertification petition has started.
“In accordance with our Team Members’ request, Station Casinos has withdrawn its recognition of the Union as an authorized bargaining representative of Sunset Station Team Members,” officials say. “This decertification petition follows decertification petitions signed by a majority of the represented Team Members at Boulder Station and Palace Station.”
Station Casinos says the team member decisions at Boulder Station, Palace Station and Sunset Station followed the overwhelming rejection of the union in the election at Red Rock in late 2019.
“Just as our Team Members at Boulder Station and Palace Station did before, our Team Members at Sunset Station have spoken. Station Casinos respects their decision and certainly appreciates the confidence that our Team Members have placed in us” said Station Casinos President Scott Kreeger. “We look forward to having the same great direct relationships with this group of Team Members as we have with our Boulder Station, Palace Station, Santa Fe Station and Durango Team Members. There is a reason our Team Members vote for us again and again as the best casino company to work for in Las Vegas and this result from Sunset Station Team Members underscores how special our relationship is with our Team Members.”
Station Casinos says they call on the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 to stop its “ongoing harassment” recognize the decisions to reject the union at Palace Station, Boulder Station, Red Rock and Sunset Station.
FOX5 has reached out to the Culinary Union for a response.
