LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A man faces a gross misdemeanor charge for allegedly placing a hidden camera inside a Las Vegas Starbucks bathroom.
On Jan. 20 a Las Vegas Metro Police officer responded to reports of a suspicious person at the Starbucks located at 3755 Spring Mountain Rd. Las Vegas.
A Starbucks employee reported to police a hidden camera was found in the restroom and the male who placed it there was still at the store.
Court documents reveal the Starbucks employee noticed the man was using the unisex single restroom multiple times. He was seen going inside the restroom about nine times quickly after each customer during the 3-hour time span.
The individual was described as a black male adult wearing a gray shirt and gray jeans.
According to the arrest report the man was pacing inside of the business and knocked on the bathroom door several times while the employee was inside.
When police arrived, the man identified as Raymond Haywood, was leaving the business and police immediately arrested him.
The Starbucks employee told police there was a phone directly above the toilet seat with the camera pointing downward. The arrest report detailed the employee witnessed shoe marks on the toilet seat and called police.
Police said the camera angle was positioned where anyone unknowingly using the restroom would be exposed.
Haywood told police he takes medication which causes him to use the restroom frequently. Haywood claimed he did not own a phone.
According to the report Haywood appeared visibly nervous because he thought he had a warrant.
Haywood is expected to appear in court on Feb. 20.
