LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 34-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night in connection to the deadly shooting of a dog in the east valley.
Around 11:15 p.m., Las Vegas Metro Police received reports of a dog shot in the 6000 block of Halehaven Drive and located a dog suffering from gunshot wounds. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Kevin Hoskins, was also located in the street and subsequently arrested.
An investigation found that Hoskins was upset with the dog and was making threats that he was going to kill the dog. Other individuals tried to intervene to get the dog out of the kennel and away from Hoskins.
Before the dog could exit the kennel, Hoskins shot the dog multiple times.
Hoskins was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for willful/malicious torture/maim/kill of a dog, and 13 counts of discharging a firearm within an occupied structure.
