LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A man was found dead Monday morning after a home fire in northwest Las Vegas, officials say.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue said they responded to 7024 Feather Pine Street. near Elkhorn and Cimarron roads, before noon. A caller reported seeing smoke from a single-story home and said they were unable to contact anyone inside.
When crews arrived, they were told one person may be in the house. Firefighters forced entry, began to extinguish the fire and searched the home. Officials say an elderly man was found dead.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to LVFR. The damage is estimated at $100K.
NV Energy and Southwest Gas also responded. Las Vegas Metro Police were also on scene for safety.
