LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – In October 2022, a stabbing rampage on the Las Vegas Strip killed two people and wounded six others.

The suspect was identified as Yoni Christian Barrios. He was 32 at the time. Police say he used a large chef’s knife outside the Wynn Las Vegas resort.

The two who died were identified as Maris DiGiovanni, 30, and Brent Allan Hallett, 46.

Earlier this month, Barrios pleaded not guilty to 15 charges. They range from battery, attempted murder with a deadly weapon and act of terrorism.

Thursday morning, Barrios pleaded guilty but mentally ill to both murder counts and multiple attempted murder counts.

Sentencing is set for 3/14 before Judge Tierra Jones.
