LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The man charged in a DUI crash that killed a mother and her two sons has been sentenced.

Darryl Smith, 36, was sentenced 16 to 40 years Tuesday, with about 6 months credit for time served.

The crash happened near Lake Mead Parkway and Grand Cadence Drive in Henderson on January 7. Rebecca Post, 38 and her five and six-year-old sons Leo Post-Quintanilla, and Achilles Quintanilla were killed in the crash.

A police report said Smith had admitted to drinking and taking cough syrup before the crash.
