LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are investigating a crash involving a pedestrian Sunday night.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred on South Durango Drive, south of Blue Diamond Road around 8:07 p.m.
The crash involved a 2012 Toyota Corolla traveling south on Durango, and a pedestrian who crossed the road outside a crosswalk. The Toyota struck the pedestrian and knocked him to the ground.
Arriving medical crews took the pedestrian to UMC Trauma, where he would later die.
The Toyota driver remained at the crash and police say he showed no signs of impairment.
“The pedestrian’s death marked the 130th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2024,” police noted in a release.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
