LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas Metro police say a man stabbed 3 people including Walmart security guards with a knife he had just purchased from the store.
According to LVMPD the incident took place on March 25 near Charleston and Decatur just before 4 p.m.
The guards told police they approached 43-year-old Rickey Tasley because they claim he was stealing items from the store.
Tasley told police he was acting in self-defense as he believed he was being jumped by a security officer.
Tasley later confessed to police he believed family members were conspiring to murder him. The arrest report says he spotted over 20 shoppers he believed were working together to kill him, which is what led him to “prepare for the attack.”
The report says he purchased a pack of steak knives, alcohol, tea tree oil, and running shoes. Tasley said his intent was to ignite attackers with the items purchased.
Police located three knives in Tasley’s front hoodie pocket.
Police say he used one of those knives to cut and strike at the security guard when they tried to detain him, then went on to attack another guard.
According to the report one female and two men were injured and taken to a local hospital. Two of the victims later told police they believed they were going to die.
When officers arrived Tasley cooperated with police.
Tasley faces multiple mayhem with the use of a deadly weapon and battery charges. He is set to appear in court April 14th.
