LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Nevada Reading Week is underway at schools across the Las Vegas Valley, with special guest speakers visiting classrooms to read to students and interact with them.
Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley visited Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas in Centennial Hills on Tuesday as part of the week’s events.

“I’m a great believer in paying forward and giving back to the community,” Berkley said. “So, all I’m doing is reliving my own childhood and passing it on to others. So, I’m very excited to be here. I’m very lucky that I’m able to do this.”
Nevada Reading Week events are scheduled to continue at schools throughout the valley for the remainder of the week.
