LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — An F-35 assigned to Nellis Air Force Base crashed north of Las Vegas on Tuesday, with emergency responders on scene and no impacts reported to nearby populated areas, sources first told FOX5.
Nellis Air Force Base says the crash occurred about 25 miles northeast of Indian Springs within the controlled airspace and restricted federal property of the Nevada Test and Training Range.
The pilot was safely recovered and is being treated for minor injuries.
The base said it would release more information as it becomes available.
