GOLDEN VALLEY, Ariz. (FOX5) — Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies shot and killed a domestic violence suspect Wednesday morning after he fired at them from inside a trailer and set it ablaze, officials said.

The shooting happened just before 8:30 a.m. in Golden Valley, about 25 miles east of Laughlin.

Suspect armed, refused to surrender

Deputies were attempting to arrest a domestic violence suspect when he told them he was armed and refused to exit the trailer, officials said. The suspect then started a fire inside the trailer before opening fire on deputies outside.

Deputies returned fire, striking the suspect. They pulled him from the trailer before it was fully engulfed in flames. The suspect died at the scene.

Investigation underway

No deputies were injured in the incident. The Bullhead City Police Department is investigating the shooting.
