LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help to identify a cold case victim.
Officials say boaters found a “severely decomposed body” of a male near Lake Havasu City on Oct. 7, 2000. He was located three miles north of Sandy Point Marina. Police say they believe the victim’s age is between 20 to 40 years old and is described as a white man, 5′10″ with a mustache and brown hair.
At the time he was found, police say he was wearing blue jeans, Reebok tennis shoes, and a t-shirt with “Hot Boat Magazine” logo printed across the back. On him was a Casio calculator watch, a utility knife, and a small flashlight with “JKP” inscribed.
Police say he died one month before he was found. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office sketched the victim in Jan. 2001. The sketch was released at that time with no success.

The sheriff’s office says they hope to identify the victim and revitalize the investigation. Anyone with information useful to this investigation is encouraged to contact the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit at 928-753-0753 ext. 4408 and reference DR# 00-026283.
