More storms push into Las Vegas valley Thursday

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – Days after storms pushed across the Las Vegas valley, another storm brought a severe thunderstorm warning in Clark County Thursday.

The warning, which is in effect until 4 p.m., indicated that 60-mile-per-hour gusts of wind were possible, as well as hail the size of quarters.

Just after 3 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was moving east at 15 miles per hour over the Southern Highlands area.

5:00 P.M. — The ground stop at the Las Vegas airport has been extended to 5:30.

4:56 P.M. — The Southern Nevada Health District Fremont location has closed due to a power outage. NV Energy reports just over 5,000 outages still in effect.

4:03 P.M. — The ground stop at the Las Vegas airport has been extended to 4:45 due to the thunderstorms.

3:56 P.M. — NV Energy is now reporting more than 5,600 customers without power in Clark County.

3:48 P.M. — A ground stop has been issued due to thunderstorms around Harry Reid International Airport. It remains in effect until 4:15 P.M.

3:35 P.M. — NV Energy has updated its power outage map, saying that more than 4,400 customers were affected by outages as storms continue to push through the valley.
