LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Many people are not waiting to cast their ballot for early voting in Southern Nevada.
Clark County’s Election website shows more than 47,000 people voted in-person at early voting sites. County officials say turnout on Saturday, the first day of early voting, was higher than the first day in 2020.
Just under 4,000 people voted at Galleria Mall on Saturday and Sunday.
FOX5 was told on scene the wait was more than two hours long to vote at the mall on Saturday.
Voting was strong again on Monday. Voters told FOX5 the wait was up to an hour and a half. Others said they waited about 30 minutes.
Some people in line said there is too much at stake to wait to vote.
One voter said he wanted to vote early and get it done, after waiting for three hours to vote on election day in 2020.
According to Clark County figures, Galleria at Sunset had the highest early in-person voting turnout over the weekend with 3,926 votes cast. That included 2,334 votes cast on Saturday and 1,592 on Sunday.
