Motorcyclist dead after crash at Lake Mead

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 20-year-old Las Vegas man died after a crash at Lake Mead, Nevada State Police say.

Police said the crash happened Saturday, April 12 at 6:27 p.m. in the area of North Shore Road and mile marker 16. This is in the scenic route at Lake Mead National Recreational Park, east of Las Vegas.

He rode a Suzuki motorcycle. Police say he was traveling south on North Shore Road when he failed to turn with a curve.

He went airborne into a desert area. Police identified him as Brian Keith Mayhew. He died at the sceen.

“The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Traffic Homicide Unit,” police say. “2025 Year to date: The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated 18 fatal crashes resulting in 18 fatalities.”
