LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Nevada troopers investigated a crash 15 miles south of Pahrump just after midnight Tuesday.

Nevada Highway Patrol said a motorcycle collided with an SUV at State Route 160 and mile marker 28 in the westbound lanes.

According to troopers, the motorcycle rider was traveling the wrong way, driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of SR160.

The motorcyclist died on scene, a public information officer said. The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries but was not transported.

Troopers said the road would be closed for seven to eight hours as the investigation continues.

The Regional Transportation Commission said all lanes reopened around 6:27 a.m.
