LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A motorcyclist is dead after a high-speed crash involving a garbage truck in the central valley Wednesday morning.

According to Las Vegas Metro Police, the crash occurred on West Charleston Boulevard and Shadow Lane, near the I-15. An initial investigation found that a 2012 Yamaha FZ8-N motorcycle was traveling west on Charleston at a high speed, while an RTC bus was turning left onto Shadow Lane.

The motorcycle collided head-on with the right rear side of the bus.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the biker and later died at the scene.

A passenger aboard the bus reported injuries and was transported to UMC by ambulance. The bus driver also showed no signs of impairment, according to police.

“The motorcyclist’s death marked the 37th traffic-related collision in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2025,” LVMPD noted in a release.

This is the third deadly motorcycle crash in that last 24 hours.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
