LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A motorcyclist was killed early Monday in Henderson when a bus and a motorcycle collided.
The collision occurred just before 1 a.m. Monday in the area of Racetrack Road and Burkholder Boulevard in Henderson. There, investigators said a Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) bus and a motorcycle collided.
The crash happened when the RTC bus was traveling east on Racetrack Road and attempting to turn left onto Burkholder Boulevard on a flashing yellow turn signal. The oncoming motorcyclist, traveling west on Racetrack Road, struck the bus, throwing the rider from the motorcycle.
The unidentified motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement officials said speed and impairment were not considered factors in the crash.
The RTC bus driver remained at the scene and was issued a citation, police said, adding that the crash was considered “the sixth accident-related fatality for 2025.” Law enforcement officials said the investigation into the crash is “active and open.”
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Henderson police at 702-385-5555. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or via the organization’s website.
