LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A motorcyclist is dead after a high-speed rollover crash in the central valley on Saturday.

According to Las Vegas Metro Police, the crash occurred around 3:01 p.m. on West Sahara Avenue, east of South Decatur Boulevard.

An initial investigation found that a Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling west on Sahara at a high speed. An unrelated crash between another motorcycle and a vehicle happened in the area happened before, and the Kawasaki rider applied his brakes to avoid hitting the vehicles.

The motorcycle then overturned, ejected the rider, and began sliding until it struck a center median. Arriving medical crews transported the ride to UMC Trauma, where he remains in serious condition.

Police add that impairment is not suspected in this crash.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
