Motorcyclist killed in southeast Las Vegas hit-and-run crash

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Early Saturday morning, Metro Police conducted an investigation into a crash that killed one person.

The crash happened around 3:40 a.m. at East Tropicana Avenue and Mountain Vista Street.

According to investigators, a motorcycle was riding west on Tropicana toward Mountain Vista when a pickup truck tried to turn left onto Mountain Vista.

The truck failed to yield the right of way, causing the motorcycle to collide with the right side of the pickup.

The driver of the truck sped away after the crash and the motorcyclist, a 45-year-old man, was pronounced dead, police say.

This crash is still under investigation as the identity of the driver is unknown.

The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been released.
