LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 43-year-old motorcyclist from Las Vegas died Sunday after a crash on Lake Mead and US 95.

Nevada State Police responded to the southbound on-ramp around 4:04 p.m. Police said Anthony Edmundo Morrone did not slow down during a curve and lost control of the bike and overturned.

At this moment, the motorcyclist entered the path of a Ford. The driver of the pickup truck tried to avoid him, but failed.

The motorcyclist came to rest on the left side of the US 95. Police said the driver of the Ford stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities. They also did not report any injuries.

Police said the driver died at a valley hospital.

“The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Southern Command Multidisciplinary Investigation & Reconstruction Team,” police said.

2024 Year to date: The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated 42 fatal crashes resulting in 50 fatalities. Police say 2024 fatalities data is preliminary and may change/be updated based on final investigation and coroner reports.
