LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office says a nationwide school threat impacting multiple states, including Arizona, did not originate in the state.
The county says there has been a threat circulating on social media referencing a series of incidents with a fire alarm being pulled and a shooter targeting those evacuating.
Officials say the origin has been repeatedly investigated and was found non-credible. They conducted multiple interviews and nothing indicates that the threat originated in Arizona.
“If, during the course of our investigation, we identify the person or persons responsible for such a threat, they will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law, as we have done in previous investigations,” MCSO says.
Mohave County says parents are responsible to monitor their children’s activities on social media and should report any suspicious activity.
