NDOT announces lane, shoulder restrictions on I‑215 during Preservation Project

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has shared an updated schedule of traffic restrictions expected on the I-215 as part of the Pavement Preservation Project.

According to NDOT, the projects will improve about four miles of pavement between the I-15 interchange and Windmill Lane. Officials say the changes will extend the life of the roadway and improve ride quality for motorists.

What drivers should expect:

NDOT crews will implement a series of shoulder closures and lane reductions at different times and locations along I-215 and nearby cross streets. Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays, reduced lane widths, and temporary ramp restrictions. Use caution in work zones and consider alternate routes when possible.

Planned restrictions (subject to change)

  • Monday, Dec. 1 to Friday, Dec. 5, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Intermittent shoulder closures on east- and westbound I-215 between I-15 and the Airport Connector.
  • Monday, Dec. 1, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • East- and westbound Warm Springs Road will be reduced to two lanes east of Paradise Road.
  • Monday, Dec. 1 at 10 p.m. to Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 5 a.m.
    • Eastbound I-215 will be reduced to four lanes between Las Vegas Boulevard and the Airport Connector. The eastbound I-215 off-ramp to the Airport Connector will be reduced to one lane.

    • East- and westbound Warm Springs Road will be reduced to two lanes between Paradise Road and the westbound I-215 on-ramp.

Officials report NDOT coordinates with Waze to share planned highway restrictions and encourage drivers to check traffic apps for real-time updates. The schedule may change due to weather or other factors. Drivers with questions about the project or traffic impacts should visit the NDOT website for updates.
