LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The 99th Air Base Wing has suspended the Trusted Traveler Program at Nellis Air Force Base, effective immediately, according to a release Saturday.
The change requires anyone without base access to obtain a valid visitor pass and sponsor before entering the installation.
Sponsors must contact or visit the 99th Security Forces Squadron Visitor Control Center to begin the process. Both the sponsor and visitor must be present for in-person pass requests.
Visitors must provide valid, REAL ID-compliant identification, such as a state-issued driver’s license, passport, or Social Security card with a photo. Vehicle registration may be required for those who intend to drive on base.
Additionally, all individuals seeking access must undergo a mandatory criminal background check. Access may be denied to those with a history of felonies, outstanding warrants, or significant criminal activity. Exceptions for special events will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Sponsors can also request a pass in advance by obtaining a Pass Request Form from the VCC. Once completed, the form must be returned to the VCC. Approved passes are available for pickup after a processing period of three to five business days.
For after-hours or weekend access, passes of up to 72 hours can be obtained at the Range Gate, located on the hospital side of the base.
The VCC is open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It can be reached by email at [email protected] or by phone at (702) 652-3216.
