LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford launched a new hotline for reporting hate crimes directly.

It also refers victims to services that may be available to provide help after these crimes.

Ford says this hotline is a vital resource that will help ensure hate crimes get reported.

“This hotline is a vital resource that will help ensure that hate crimes do not go unreported in our communities,” said AG Ford. Nevada is a welcoming and accepting state, and my office will do anything in its power to hold those who would target a person based on their race, sex or other inherent trait accountable.”

The state received over $1.1 million in funding for the program from the Jabara-Heyer NO HATE Act State-Run Hate Crime Reporting Hotlines.

According to state crime stats, hate crimes increased in Nevada in 2024. This follows three consecutive years of decreasing numbers.

The number to call is 775-687-HATE (4283).
